Brunswick Bound Books

Amra Pajalić  is a Melbourne-based author of Bosnian background. Her debut novel  The Good Daughter  (Text Publishing, 2009) won the 2009 Melbourne Prize for Literature’s Civic Choice Award. Amra has appeared on panels at conferences and literary festivals including at the Wheeler Centre, Melbourne Writers Festival, Williamstown Literary Festival, Reading Matters Conference Panel, and the VicTESOL Conference. She was funded by Artists in Schools to be an Artist in Residence in 2010, 2011 and 2012 in high schools, and in 2014 received funding from Creative Victoria to be mentored by Alice Pung to work on her memoir. She works as a high school teacher and is completing a PhD in Creative Writing at La Trobe University. Leah Kaminsky is a physician and award-winning writer. Her debut novel The Waiting Room won the prestigious Voss Literary Prize. She conceived and edited Writer MD , a collection of prominent physician-writers, which starred on Booklist and is the co-author of Cracking the Code , with the Damiani family. Elizabeth Kuiper grew up in Zimbabwe before immigrating to Perth with her mother.  In 2016 she graduated from University of Melbourne with a degree in politics and philosophy.  An early extract of Little Stones was shortlisted for the Richell Prize, received the Express Media prize for best work of fiction and was published in Award Winning Australian Writing.  Elizabeth is currently studying Law at University of Melbourne. Anna Snoekstra writes novels, teaches storytelling at RMIT University and co-ordinates the Write Club at 100 Story Building .  Her non-fiction has appeared in The Guardian, Filmme Fatales and she is a regular contributor to Lindsay .  Her first novel Only Daughter was released in 2016, and is currently in the works to be turned into a feature film with Universal Pictures.  Her second, the acclaimed Little Secrets , was released in 2017.  In 2018, Anna released her first YA novel, Mercy Point ,  and the twisty and suspenseful novel, The Spite Game . We were recently the beneficiaries of a grant from Puffin Books and believe you me, we were blown away to get the news. Puffin Books are the publishers of some of yours and your kids' favourite books, such as The Very Hungry Caterpillar (which just celebrated 50 years of delighting children), Hairy Maclary and more recently books from authors such as Mem Fox and local authors Anna Walker and Sophie Beer. We weren't expecting big things, as every bookshop in Australia was eligible for a slice of the giveaway and our submission was perhaps a little practical rather than visionary... I know, I know. Elizabeth Coleman  is the author of four published plays, including the smash hits  Secret Bridesmaids' Business  and  It's My Party (And I'll Die If I Want To) . Her theatre writing has also appeared in several anthologies. As a screenwriter Elizabeth adapted  Secret Bridesmaids' Business  into an award-winning ABC telemovie and has written for many of Australia's most popular dramas, including  Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries  and  Bed of Roses , which she co-created with Jutta Goetze.  Losing the Plot  is her first novel.
